Halloween Layouts plus more

At Peek, the theme was Halloween. I had Daisy D's, one of my favorites.

Katrina from last year. What a color combo, huh? Orange, pink, blue...
Some of you may know that Trent refused to wear his skeleton costume last year. Instead, he wore the alien costume he wore the year before. *sigh*

BTW, there's a layout about Trent's Skeleton costume in the October Creating Keepsakes. My first time published there. woohoo! Pssst...page 24.

Trent's costume for this year is ultra spooky. We bought it off the internet and weeks later, he still likes it. Thank goodness. I don't want to do 3 years of spooky alien layouts.

See those screw eyelet things? I've been hording those for years. I love them. Making Memories made them and when eyelets starting going out of style, I bought several packages of them.

Things are changing around at Peek. We're not going to be doing just bi-monthly uploads. We're going to be doing them daily. I've had 2 so far this month. Here they are:

Trent playing kickball in his Tiger uniform. Awwww.....
I like that picture. I felt pretty darn lucky to get it. After he kicked that ball, he ran to first base, on to second base passing one of his friends standing on base, then on past third base where his sister was standing and then he ran onto fourth making a home run.

More Daisy D's. Have I mentioned lately how much I adore Daisy D's? My current HOT list consists of Sweetwater, Technique Tuesday and Daisy D's.
Anyway, I LOVE this silver paper they came out with to go with the Salt Water Taffy line. It has a cool little sheen to it.
This is Katrina's costume. She wants to be an angel. Funny, huh? oh, and I know that the title is "Princess" and not "Angel". There was no "Angel" sticker and I felt "Princess" worked pretty darn well anyway.
The frame is accented with a ton of gems and pearls, etc and is much more gaudy when the light is shining on it at the perfect angle.
Thanks for looking and reading and all that stuff.

Ready for Halloween?

We are! Both of these photos were edited in my new favorite program from Picnik.

BTW, Tammy, I'm so sorry I don't have your email address, but the gold crowns are from Manto Fev and the fleur de lis is an older embellishment made by Foofala.

Thanks for your kind words. :D

Cheesecake

It's our 7th wedding anniversary tomorrow. We're celebrating today as we have plans already tomorrow. We decided to stay home this year and have steak and cheesecake.

I made the cheesecake yesterday and Katrina helped me.

As we were eating it tonight, the kids kept going on and on about how good it was.

I looked at Katrina and said, "Katrina, the cheesecake is extra good because you helped me."

She agreed.

I didn't realize that Trent was even paying much attention until he looked up at Katrina. He looked her square in the eyes and with his mouth full of cheesecake said,

"Katrina, I LOOOOOOOVE your baking."

Then he went back to eating.

9/15 upload and a HUGE sale

The theme for 9/15 at Peek was "Quotes". Pat is having a HUGE sale on a TON of merchandise. Go over there and buy, buy, buy!

I had to photograph this one. Because of the clips, it refused to scan. This is part of a song my father used to sing to me when I was little.
Pat never said they had to be quotes from famous people. ;)

what do you think?

I've been working with this photo for awhile. I keep changing the way it's cropped. What do you think of it? The little girl's head keeps throwing me off.

I love all the young hands around great grandmother's older hands.

90

Erik's grandmother had her 90th birthday party this weekend. All of his family flew in from all parts of the country to celebrate. It was so nice!

As soon as Grandma arrived, I grabbed her and took a few pictures. I know, it was very selfish of me. ;)

Katrina and her Great Grandma.

The photographer lined all the great grandkids up and took their pictures. I like this one of her looking at Katrina. Note how Katrina has "Lil' Puppy" with her. Lil' Puppy has a rubberband around her neck. For whatever reason, the kids think rubberbands are the coolest things ever. I guess we need to get out more. She's also wearing her High School Musical shirt. She rarely takes that thing off. I have to sneak it out of her bedroom to wash it and then she runs around asking, "Where's my High School Moosical shirt?!?"

Trent and his cousin. Isn't she cute? They are the same age, just a few months apart.

Uploads for the 31st

Wow, I'm really caught up here!!! Incredible!
Peek's theme this time was Numbers.

Katrina never stops asking for food. Sometimes she has 3 breakfasts.

I swear, this is really the only thing I can remember from any of her picture days. Ugh!! She was and still is so stubborn!!This is Ashley, btw, my oldest daughter. She's 20 now. Had I not put some of those little pictures on pop dots, the whole thing would have scanned better. I guess you can get the general idea here.

I don't have much else to post. I have been working on new Technique Tuesday stuff for Memory Trends. heehee

New BasicGrey

Usually, BasicGrey takes a while to grow on me. For whatever reason, I loved these new collections right away.

More Layouts...

From Peek, July 30. The theme was "A Fresh Look at Old Products". Of course, you know in the scrapbook world, anything that is considered "old" has been on the shelf for about 30 days. ;)

I took a picture of Trent on the first day of Kindergarten and then I made him wear the same thing on his last day and took his picture. According to his teacher, there were 177 days of school. In this family, we say "kissing" instead of "biting". We don't want to scare the bunnies. Isn't that little bunny cute?? That's one of the new Technique Tuesday stamps (Dog & Pony show).

August 15, Multiple Photos:

The blue and the "notes" page is from the October Afternoon catalog. I can't wait for this release. Really, I can't. That's why I ripped the catalog up and used it.

My husband calls our new dog, "Broken". She just has a small anxiety issue. Well, ok. It's not so small. She has a therapist, a Rx for Prozac, vallium and a new pretty pheremone collar. We can fix her, I know it!

Can you read the journaling? If not, let me add it:

When asked about our plans for the summer, I always felt a little silly replying with, “We’re doing the Summer Reading Program at the library”, when it seemed everyone else had such elaborate plans. Their kids were going to camp, to dance lessons, swim lessons, Spanish class and more. We didn’t have a lot of money to spend on camps or lessons. I tried to picture us sitting on the back patio, reading together, sipping decaf iced tea and having lots of fun.

It didn’t happen that way.

School was out on May 24th. The fighting and whining started on May 25th.

We did sit on the back patio reading books. However, reality was much different than how I pictured our reading adventure.

I forgot about the bugs flying around us, trying to invade our ears and nose. I forgot how much Trent and Kat hated bugs and how much their shrill screaming about bugs bothered me.

I never pictured Trent and Kat fighting over who’s book we were going to read first, who got to sit in my lap while I read or who got to sit in the rocking chair closest to me, and other things that were obviously worth fighting over that I can’t seem to think of now.

I forgot how every time we sit outside, Zoe brings her wet, muddy ball over and sets it in our lap. If we don’t throw it right away she barks at us.

I forgot how tired my mouth gets after reading for 30 minutes.

I forgot about how HOT it was in May.

On May 26th we moved inside. I sat on the couch and both kids sat on either side of me.

On May 26th at 10:00 am we were done reading the books we had borrowed from the library. We thought they were going to last a week.

I had Erik set up the Nintendo 64.

It was going to be a long, hot summer.

While volunteering in Trent's classroom last year, I had the opportunity to take pictures while it was empty. The kids had left to practice for a program they were performing at the end of the year. I even took a picture of his little cubby.

Monkeys

Another page for the Alphabetica journal. This one belong's to Tricia Both.

What else would "M" be for?? I also added a sticker from the Clementine Katrina ate last week. I just can't throw anything away...

Wow, I just looked and I haven't uploaded anything in a long time. :( Here goes. Let's see how much Blogger will let me upload:
From Peek, June 30, Summer theme:

Ummm, yeah...I wanted to do something a little different. Besides, I was inspired by one of Angie's super cool cards.

From Peek, July 15, Favorites from CHA-W

Mustard Moon, Making Memories, Bam Pop!, and of course Technique Tuesday!
BasicGrey

LOVE Daisy D's!

You do realize that anything with a monkey on it is going to be one of my favorites. ;)
This is taking too long. I'll add more tomorrow. Thanks for looking. :D

Finally, a lost tooth

It was loose on Monday. He wiggled it back and forth. Last night he had a hard time eating and he actually got a little blood on his shirt. It wasn't until after dinner, when he bit into his cupcake, that it fell out.

We can't find it. I think he swallowed it. Grrrr...

So it rained...

and it was discovered that Zoe really likes to chase the ball and splash. This is our backyard. Wow!

This is the driveway into the street in front of our house.

Erik is standing in the middle of the street! The water is up to his ankles!! Crazy, huh? It was only about a 30 minute rain.

I LOVE monsoon season.
