Hambly

Oh, well. I applied for the Hambly Design Team. Didn't make it, but I'll keep chugging along here. They asked for an unseen project. Here is what I sent them:

Hambly, owl stamp is Technique Tuesday, alpha chipboard is Cosmo Cricket, a tiny touch of Lily Bee and the wings are old Fancy Pants. The heart is a negative space from a Cricut cut. Spray paint for the blue splatters.

Thanks for looking and thanks for your sweet comments.

Willy Man Benches

Oh another day. This is a picture from my Project 365. We found these benches at a yard sale. The lady that was selling them said that her dog (now deceased) used them when his hips were bad. He liked to look over the wall and with the little benches, he could. Her friend that put them in the back of my car, made a comment that he couldn't believe she was giving them up. She made several comments about her dog and how he liked kids so she gave us a great price on these. We'll use them to roast marshmallows outside next to our "fire pit". Later, I took this picture and printed it off and took it back to the lady at the yard sale so she would know her "Willy-Man" benches were very much appreciated. She said she was going to put this picture on her fridge.

Watermelon card

Hello everyone. It's project time for the Bitten by the Bug 2. Due to health issues and other stresses, I haven't participated in awhile.

It was my turn to pick a challenge and I decided to go old school. I asked the designers to use the watermelon cut from the Stretch Your Imagination cart.

I chose just the silhouette cut. It looked a lot fancier in my head....

I used BasicGrey June Bug and
Technique Tuesday stamps

They're hopping over there at BBTB2, so if you're in the mood to get some goodies you may want to head back over there and start the list. I would be participating, but there is something about going to the post office in the hot summer with two kids that can't sit still that drives me bonkers. When school is back in session, I'll think about doing some more hops.

Thanks for your comments.

Mother

A card made for Bitten by the Bug 2. Design Team Sister, Lori, asked us to use a cut from the Mother's Day 2010 cart. I don't have that one so I used the newer Mother's Day Bouquet cart released just recently. I love this cart. You can make a ka-zillion different flowers with as many layers as your little heart desires.

The stamps are Technique Tuesday Mama=Love

Armadillo

Well, I'm really behind getting things uploaded on Blogger.

BBTB2's designer, Krista, chose the armadillo and/or bird from Birthday Bash. This was the first time I have used the cart and I have to say there are some really cute images.

Ignore the fact that I couldn't figure out that piece that goes on the tail. Don't know what the dealio is with that. Some of the other girls figured it out.

Stamps are Technique Tuesday and Sassafras. I colored in the "Happy Birthday" with my Copics. The chicken wire overlay is Hambly.

I also completed another layout. That's 2 for this year. ;) I am on a roll.

This is all made with October Afternoon Campfire

Fort Blanket. I think this is the new Bo Bunny. Glimmer Mist, too.

BasicGrey Jovial. That's a Bob Marley statue next to a Christmas tree. Ahhh...Jamaica!

I think I should get some sort of point or something for using a really old product...decorative twistee ties. ;)

That's it for now! Thanks for visiting and thanks so much for your comments. If you don't follow my blog, please do. I'll be having a giveaway when I get to 200 followers.

and some more Technique Tuesday

This set is called Va Va Va Bloom. The only thing stamped with ink are the Vintage Lace Borders, the Addison title , and the couple of hearts from Love, Ali set. All of the flowers, stems and leaves are stamped with Glimmer Mist. I simply sprayed the color on my Ranger non-stick mat, dipped the stamps in the color and stamped away. The detail of the flowers is really much better in real life, but since I have glitter all over them, it's hard to see because of the glare. All the twill (from Technique Tuesday) is misted, too.

All the tags are from my Cricut - Tags, Bags, Boxes and more. I can't believe they retired that cart.

Sookie is my daughter's kitten. We've been watching her for a couple of weeks as she took a break from being a scratching post. She's going to have a tough time getting little Sookie Cookie back.

I was feeling a little ummmm, experimental with this one. I still like it and it's always fun to step out of the box every once in awhile. ;)

Some new Technique Tuesday

Eileen sent me some stamps from their new release. I LOVE these!!

After I stamped the frame, I covered it in Distress Stickles to make it look like sand.

This one is using several new sets - The Weather Report, Message in a Banner, and FUNdamentals Superstars.

After I cut out the banner, I poked holes in the corners and used Scrappers Floss to "tie" them on. More examples are on their way.

The rest of my cards

These are the remainder of my cards for my Birthday themed class. I was thinking about having a class or two here at my home, but I'm just worried about the dogs and the kids. I did it once and it seemed to work out great. I got to see several of my friends from my old hang out. However, I think I'm more comfortable doing card classes outside of my home. So, if any of you are reading this and are interested in a card class from little ol' me that you could host at your home, let me know.

I'm also thinking of maybe selling kits and completed cards on Etsy. Is that something you'd be interested in? I always use high quality paper, cardstock and I'd stamp all the images for you. All you would need to do assemble the cards. They come with instructions and a picture of the completed card. All cards also come with a clear envelope.

Hello Bee and Blog Hop with candy

At Bitten By the Bug 2, Donna asked us to use the bee from Sentimentals. This is my FIRST welded card. I used the Gypsy to weld 2 bees together. I love shaped cards! Watch out world, I have a feeling I'm going to be welding everything. ;)

Stamps are from Technique Tuesday.

It was Katrina's idea to add the flowers around the neck. Katrina is always at my craft table, hovering around and putting flowers, ribbons or bling on my projects. Remember the Tweet card? She had to add the flower button and even hand cut the stem. Sometmes I find it rather annoying because I'm always looking over her, but I realize this phase isn't going to last very long and soon she won't want to "hang with mom" at all. So, I let her help whenever she wants. She also loves my Gypsy and I've taught her how to use it.

Do your kids/grandkids play with your Cricut? Have you taught them how?

Now, we're hopping this week. So be sure to leave a comment to be eligible for the prize below. It's Making Memories stickers, KI epoxy stickers and some Prima brads. After you leave your comment, please visit Krista for another chance to win some great stuff.

sorry this picture is a bit out of focus. It just goes to show that one can have a really expensive camera and still mess up the focus. ;)

A Deer Friend

That sweet little deer is from Technique Tuesday. They hosted BBTB2 this week. I also asked all the designers to use the flouish cut from Stretch Your Imagination.

Check out the rest of the projects. They're so cute!

$10.00 and 1/2 pound of bacon

...that is what this layout cost me. At first, Trent was happy with the $10.00 cash that I offered him. Within 30 minutes, he was whining about how boring it was to "write all of this stuff out". 2 hours pass and he's still not finished. Army men and suddenly reading is more interesting than writing. I begged him to finish but he kept getting distracted with other things. It wasn't until I started making dinner that his interest in this project peaked again.

"Ok, if you finish writing, you can have as much bacon as you want."

He was finished within 10 minutes. Trent really likes bacon. ;)

Technique Tuesday Storytellers: School Days, Boulder Skyline and Infinite Wisdom.

Katrina likes bacon, too, but her true passion is Beanie Babies. This small collection is just a tiny bit of what she really has.
