Hello Bee and Blog Hop with candy

At Bitten By the Bug 2, Donna asked us to use the bee from Sentimentals. This is my FIRST welded card. I used the Gypsy to weld 2 bees together. I love shaped cards! Watch out world, I have a feeling I'm going to be welding everything. ;)

Stamps are from Technique Tuesday.

It was Katrina's idea to add the flowers around the neck. Katrina is always at my craft table, hovering around and putting flowers, ribbons or bling on my projects. Remember the Tweet card? She had to add the flower button and even hand cut the stem. Sometmes I find it rather annoying because I'm always looking over her, but I realize this phase isn't going to last very long and soon she won't want to "hang with mom" at all. So, I let her help whenever she wants. She also loves my Gypsy and I've taught her how to use it.

Do your kids/grandkids play with your Cricut? Have you taught them how?

Now, we're hopping this week. So be sure to leave a comment to be eligible for the prize below. It's Making Memories stickers, KI epoxy stickers and some Prima brads. After you leave your comment, please visit Krista for another chance to win some great stuff.

sorry this picture is a bit out of focus. It just goes to show that one can have a really expensive camera and still mess up the focus. ;)

  4. This is such a cute card. I love that you let your DD help. My DD loves to come and craft with me. I got her a case to put her own stuff in and she will pull it out when I craft and sit beside me. She is learning the Cricut right now. Not letting her touch the Gypsy yet.

  5. LOVE that bee! Super cute! My 3 1/2 year old loves to craft with mommy. She has sticker books and I let her have all of my leftover stickers. She loves it!
I don't have a Gypsy or Cricut, so I just rely on embellishments that are pre-made. :)

  8. I think she did a great job choosing the flowers :)

My daughter is only 6 months old but I plan on teaching her how to use the Cricut when she's old enough.

I love the baby stage but I'm excited for her to be a bit older as well...I'm hoping she inherits my love of papercrafts :)

Ironically I want to do this stuff with my mom and she's the one that doesn't have any patience for it! She's too busy of a bee! :) Anyway, thanks for the ideas and a chance to win some fantastic things!

  37. WOW!!!!! You did a fantastic job with your first weld!! I have tried it in DS, not so good..LOL! Your DD is precious! My DD is 18 and has recently gotten into 3d projects as well as cards. The other night she actually made her first cut on the cricut, I showed her how, and she did a great job..my only complaint, is she is a messier crafter than I am!!

I imagine she would do awesome with a gypsy due to the fact that she has all that tech stuff (phone, Nintendo, Wii). She would probably have to teach me how to use the gypsy!!!! LOL

Thanks so much for sharing your awesome project!!! Very adorable!

    Crafty Hugs,

    Lisa Sturgill
