Best Day Ever!

Our neighbors told us about a Star Wars event at Costco. You could pose with characters and get your picture taken. We don't have a Costco card, so they invited us to go with them. The kids dressed up in their costumes. We were the first ones there and the Star Wars characters were pretty impressed with the kids' enthusiasm.
Captain Rex Trent with Captain Rex
Trent and Kat together with some of the crew.

After a while, it was decided that all 8 of us should have our picture taken with the crew, too.

Katrina is dressed as Padme Amidala and is posing next to her.

Oh, and look....there's Darth Maul, Jango Fett and Boba Fett hanging out near the frozen food section.

I don't know who this is. But she was standing next the the watermelons and I thought it made a nice shot. ;) None of the kids knew who she was either. Does anyone know? Trent just said maybe this is Boba Fett's son?

ETA: Boba Fett didn't have a son. He had a daughter but from the pictures I've seen, this doesn't look like her. I can tell this is going to drive me nuts.
Captain Fox was hanging out near the fresh meat section.

A Storm Trooper was guarding the cameras.

I really don't know the names of all these characters. Trenton knew all the names (with the exception of the green guy/gal).

After Star Wars, Costco had miniature donkeys and miniature horses out front. You can't top Star Wars and horses together on the same day. We also came home with M&M's and steaks!

I love these little feet

She picked this out herself (obviously)...white patent leather scuffed up shoes and High School Musical socks. I love how the strap goes right across Troy's eyes.

Aloha

Peggy Loves Vintage is sponsoring Bitten By The Bug 2 this week. She has the cutest images! I love working with her stuff.

I used the leaves from last week's challenge. I was so inspired by the projects last week that I had to use them.

The patterned paper is Cosmo.

The rest of my cards

These are the remainder of my cards for my Birthday themed class. I was thinking about having a class or two here at my home, but I'm just worried about the dogs and the kids. I did it once and it seemed to work out great. I got to see several of my friends from my old hang out. However, I think I'm more comfortable doing card classes outside of my home. So, if any of you are reading this and are interested in a card class from little ol' me that you could host at your home, let me know.

I'm also thinking of maybe selling kits and completed cards on Etsy. Is that something you'd be interested in? I always use high quality paper, cardstock and I'd stamp all the images for you. All you would need to do assemble the cards. They come with instructions and a picture of the completed card. All cards also come with a clear envelope.

Thanks for looking!

This dog is so funny

Nearly every time we drive by this house, the cute little dog is sitting and/or walking on top of the wall. Today we stopped to take a picture.

He just barked at us. He's so cute!

Happy Birthday class

I'm preparing kits right now for my next class. We're doing summery birthday cards. There are a total of 5 cards for the class.

Here's just one of them. I ripped apart a vintage dictionary for part of it. All stamps are from Technique Tuesday.

Hello Bee and Blog Hop with candy

At Bitten By the Bug 2, Donna asked us to use the bee from Sentimentals. This is my FIRST welded card. I used the Gypsy to weld 2 bees together. I love shaped cards! Watch out world, I have a feeling I'm going to be welding everything. ;)

Stamps are from Technique Tuesday.

It was Katrina's idea to add the flowers around the neck. Katrina is always at my craft table, hovering around and putting flowers, ribbons or bling on my projects. Remember the Tweet card? She had to add the flower button and even hand cut the stem. Sometmes I find it rather annoying because I'm always looking over her, but I realize this phase isn't going to last very long and soon she won't want to "hang with mom" at all. So, I let her help whenever she wants. She also loves my Gypsy and I've taught her how to use it.

Do your kids/grandkids play with your Cricut? Have you taught them how?

Now, we're hopping this week. So be sure to leave a comment to be eligible for the prize below. It's Making Memories stickers, KI epoxy stickers and some Prima brads. After you leave your comment, please visit Krista for another chance to win some great stuff.

sorry this picture is a bit out of focus. It just goes to show that one can have a really expensive camera and still mess up the focus. ;)

Recipe card

We were challenged at BBTB2 to use the Ice Cream Tab cut from the From My Kitchen cart. When I looked at it, all I saw was a recipe card. I'm AMAZED at what the other girls did with the cut. They just blow me away each time.

Also, something is eating our cactus. Isn't that a weird picture? They're climbing to the top of the leaf and eating down. It seems like if I was a little fuzzy creature eating cactus, I'd be starting at the ground level. Wouldn't you?

I guess this is a follow up to my previous post

I just discovered Katrina had written her name ON HERSELF! Do you see the "Q" on her left leg? That's short for "cutie". *sigh*

A few days ago, I posted a layout on how Katrina has to write her name on everything. I never expected her to write on herself.

I'm not happy about this at all. Nope. Not at all.

Yes, that is a plastic lizard on her leg.

That's Impressive

This is a little story about Katrina and how she has to write her name on EVERYTHING.

This was made with scraps I have sitting around my desk. It's a little cleaner around here now. I also used some Maya Mist.

Katrina refused to let me take her picture on Easter with her new pretty dress unless she was holding her brother's bright orange Bionicle. Thank goodness Crate Paper made a collection that was perfect for this picture. ;)

thanks for looking.

tweet

Carole picked the cut for this week at BBTB2. She chose the rick rack cut from Plantin Schoolbook.

Here's what I came up with:

I also used the new Create a Critter cart. Katrina INSISTED that the card needed a flower, so she hand cut a stem and stuck it on there with a pink flower shaped button. She wanted to add some orange Stickles somewhere but I really put my foot down for that suggestion.

There is always someone that is upset

about something. In this case, Trent didn't want to sit next to his sister for my "little garage photo shoot". So, I took pictures of him crying instead. Yes, I'm mean like that.

After all of that fun, we decorated eggs. The first thing happened...purple dye spilled all over the counter and the floor.

Who needs an egg holder when you have your fingers, right?

Stop

The first thing I told Trent when I bought him this gun for his costume was, "Do not point the gun at people or animals."
